I love the idea that I have helped hundreds of people over the years better connect with horses, making the ride more pleasant and effective for both.

It also brings a smile to my face to think of all the children and teens that had positive experiences, be they in Ontario, San Francisco, or Seattle. 😊

Personally, training my own horse from being a ‘write-off’ to competing at the World Cup level is my main one. Representing Ontario at the Young Riders going double clear in the Nations class and clearing 6’8” in a 6-bar puissance are close seconds.

Coaching my brother win the CET Equitation national title then coaching my daughters Natalia and Alexandra to be great riders are other life events I am very proud of.

Both of my daughters also excel in academics. Natalia is in second-year science at a top university and my younger daughter Alexandra apprentices with US superstar showjumper Schuyler Riley to further hone her skills development.

I believe riders should have a number of coaches over their career, learning multiple perspectives and techniques for different horses types and situations.

From learning several styles, I am now proud to have developed my own flat- work system which is a hybrid of the great trainers I have been privileged to have worked with.
